8 simple ways to conserve water

Saving water doesn't have to be hard! Here are 8 easy ways to conserve water.

1. Turn off faucets

When you're brushing your teeth or doing dishes, don't let the water run.

2. Take shorter showers

This one's simple... five minutes or less is a good goal.

3. Install a water-saving shower head

This upgrade is relatively inexpensive and saves money in the long run. They can be purchased online or at most home improvement stores.

4. Use your dishwasher for full loads

Be strategic in filling your dishwasher. Only washing full loads saves you time and water. Win-win!

5. Add mulch to your garden

Mulch prevents moisture from evaporating quickly.

6. Water your lawn only when needed

Automatic, scheduled lawn sprinklers may be convenient, but there's no need to water the grass when it's raining.

7. Use your washing machine for full loads

Just like dishwashers, washing machines use lots of water with each load.

8. Don't use the hose to wash your car

Instead, try filling a pail with warm, soapy water.
